Seems like an odd thing to study, but somebody did. For couples who get married on holidays like Halloween, Valentine’s Day, or New Year’s… the stats are not in their favor.
A new study found that these couples are between 18% and 36% more likely to get divorced than couples who get married on regular days.
Researchers from the Melbourne Institute explain, “Couples who marry on ordinary dates may be more strongly influenced by characteristics of their relationships and their compatibility than couples who marry on special dates.”
Have you attended any holiday weddings? I have: New Year’s Eve and July 4th. These couples are still together… stats be damned!
